Frequently asked questions
YES! Please do! If you’re in postcodes LA12, LA13 or LA14 we can often collect your items, please contact us to arrange this. If you aren’t local then we’re also very happy to buy items from all over the UK, and we can send you a pre-paid postage label to post your clothes to us. We will pay you cash via PayPal or bank transfer once we receive them. Please see the SELL US YOUR ITEMS page for more information
Yes. That’s the whole point of or business, it wouldn’t be an awful lot of use us doing this otherwise! Please ensure you are happy with this before selling your items to us You would most likely get more money selling your items individually yourself, however many of our sellers tell us that they just don’t have the time to do this, or they don’t like all the hassle and hard work that comes with it. We hope that we provide a helpful service in enabling people to get rid of large amounts of items in one go with no hassle, which would otherwise sit bagged up and unsold for months, and get cash back at the same time!
We post items all over the UK for £3.99, which is a flat rate for as many items you want! I’ve often bought items on eBay from different sellers and had to pay a £3-4 postage charge for each item, and wished they were all from the same seller so that I’d only have to pay one lot of postage. On our site you can buy 10 or 20 items and still just pay one £3.99 postage charge Items may come via Royal Mail or courier. We also offer FREE local collection if you’re in the LA13/14 area and wish to collect (although items must be paid for first via the website)
If you’re outside the UK we can still post to you! Please contact us for a postage cost
They will be great quality and condition, clean and from a smoke and pet-free environment after washing. You won’t find any stains, marks, holes, fading, bad bobbling, mis-shapen clothes, white stuff that’s gone grey, cracked logos. We do sometimes accept very slight bobbling on items such as pyjamas or jogging bottoms, but this won’t be anything severe or noticeable! Our promise to you is that only items we would be happy to buy ourselves will make it onto our website. And on the extremely rare occasions if we do make a mistake and miss anything, we’ll happily refund you
Please note although we can promise clean good condition items, we can’t promise they’ll always be perfectly ironed… due to the nature of our large storage boxes, items may get slightly creased while awaiting sale, and again in the post. While we would love to re-iron everything again at the point of sale, during busy periods when we are parcelling up hundreds of items at a time, it just isn’t practical or possible to do this. Items are also washed upon receipt but not dispatch, meaning they may have been stored for a couple of months awaiting sale.
Please also note that we go by the shop’s size label in the item when listing, and have no way of knowing if items come up particularly small or large fitting. We are happy to accept returns for anything which you may find is too small.
Please allow 7-10 days for delivery. Often it will be quicker than this, and we do try to despatch items the day after purchase, but we expect to be very busy during the first couple of weeks of our website launch!
Orders weighing under 4kg (approximately 20-30 items) will be sent using Royal Mail 2nd class post, which has a delivery estimate of 3 working days. Please note that your order may arrive in 2 separate parcels due to Royal Mail weight restrictions on single parcels.
Bigger/heavier orders of over 4kg (30 items plus) will be sent via courier which will need to be booked, and therefore may take an extra 2-3 days to arrive.
We also offer FREE local collection if you’re near the LA13/14 area and wish to collect (although items must still be paid for first, via the website). Please select Local Collection as the delivery option on checkout and then email us to arrange your collection.
We are not able to offer local delivery sorry… the only exception being that if you have items to sell us which we are collecting, we are happy to drop off any website orders for free at the same time. Please select local collection upon checkout and email us to arrange this.
We sell a mixture of pre-loved (used) clothing, brand new with tags items and brand new ex-chainstore stock. Brand new items will be clearly stated in the title of the item, therefore if an item does NOT say brand new then it will be a USED item (but still in great condition, as we only sell pre-loved items which have been checked and are what we would buy ourselves!). Items listed as ‘Brand new with tags’ items are simply items which the parents who sell to us have bought from shops but never got a chance to wear them, as kids grow so fast and can be fussy! These will be brand new, unworn with the original shop labels and tags attached. Items listed as ‘Brand new ex-chainstore’ are brand new items which were originally made for large U.K. retailers but for whatever reason they have been left over as surplus stock (often if there has been a delay in the order being manufactured, so the retailer has cancelled it). These will all be unused and will often have the tags attached, but not always. The store labels inside the item may have been marked with pen or cut out in order to prevent store returns.
We charge a flat fee of £3.99 postage no matter how many items you buy. Parcels under 2kg are sent via Royal Mail 2nd class small parcel service which costs £2.95. Parcels over 2kg are sent via Myhermes courier costing £6.49. Our system has no way of knowing at checkout how much your parcel will weigh, so we debated on the best way to do this – if we charged all postage at £2.95 it would have meant the bigger orders were quite significantly underpaying. But if we charged £6.49 for everyone it would mean highly overcharging the smaller orders. So we decided the fairest way was to meet somewhere below the middle and charge £3.99 for every order.
We pay card transaction/PayPal fees to our payment providers of between 25p-£2 for each order, so the small postage profit we make on under-2kg parcels really just covers these fees. And on over-2kg parcels we actually pay the £2.50 postage shortfall ourselves. So overall we make a loss on postage when calculated across all parcels, it’s not something we make a profit on.
Parcels over 2kg have a tracking number which we can provide on request. Parcels under 2kg do not, although we always obtain proof of postage which we can provide to you on request. We will always refund in the unlikely event that any parcels go missing – although items are not considered ‘missing’ by Royal Mail until 15 working days after posting, so we would be unable to refund until this time.
We buy most of our pre-loved clothes as large bundles from parents in our local area, (and from other areas of the UK) to sell on. Parents sell to us because it’s a really easy and hassle free way to get rid of large bundles in one go! Occasionally we use a pre-loved wholesaler too. We buy our brand new stock directly from UK children’s clothing wholesalers.
The 7-8 section will include items labelled as age 7 and also age 7-8. The age 8-9 section will include items labelled as age 8 and 8-9. And so on We have no way of knowing how accurate an item’s sizing is, we can only list by the age stated on the manufacturers label – we are happy to accept returns for anything you find come up particularly small or big fitting, if this happens we will relist the item as the smaller or bigger size with a note stating it has been found to be small or big fitting.
